UPI transactions update: HDFC Bank customers will not get SMS alerts for UPI transactions below this amount

HDFC Bank customers are informed via email and SMS that the bank will not send messages (SMS) on UPI transactions (Debit and Credit) for certain limits.

From 25th June 2024, HDFC Bank will only send SMS for UPI transactions above Rs. 100 (money sent) and Rs. 500 (Recieve).

However, all customers will receive email for all UPI transactions but email ID should be registered with your HDFC Bank account.

Steps to update/ change E-mail ID

• Read all the conditions & then click on Let’s Begin.

• Then fill your registered mobile number & identify using your (Date of Birth/ PAN/ Customer ID).

• You’ll get an OTP.

• Verify OTP and fill you email ID which you want to be registered with HDFC Bank Account.

HDFC Bank InstaAlert Charges

As per HDFC Bank ” From 1st Jan’22, we’ve revised charges for InstaAlert services via Email and SMS.

• If you were paying Rs. 3 per quarter for InstaAlert SMS service, now you will pay only 20 paise + GST per SMS.

• The email alert will continue to remain free.

• To modify or unsubscribe this service

  • Net Banking → ‘InstaAlert Registration’ ( on top of the screen).
  • Mobile Banking App → Your Profile.

How to Register for NetBanking

• Visit www.hdfcbank.com

• Click on ‘Login’.

• Submit your customer ID and password.

To register for NetBanking Online

• Visit HDFC NetBanking registration page.

• Submit your customer ID and confirm your phone number.

• Select your Debit card details.

• Set your New IPIN.

• Then login to NetBanking using your customer ID and new IPIN.

Through Phone Banking

• Call the Phone Banking number in your city.

• Place a request by giving your Customer ID and Telephone Identification Number (TIN) or debit card PIN.

• Then IPIN will be couriered to you within 5 days.

At HDFC Bank ATM

1. Enter your HDFC Bank Debit card number and your ATM PIN.

2. Select ‘Other Option ‘.

3. Select ‘Net Banking Registration’ & confirm.

4. An IPIN will be couriered to you.

At HDFC branch

1. Download the Net Banking registration form.

2. Fill up the form & submit it to any HDFC Bank Branch.

3. An IPIN will be couriered to you.
